The bargaining committee meets First Student on October 14 and 15 at the Local 107 office to negotiate the unit's first collective agreement. Times will be announced.

About us
The union for the school bus drivers who get kids to class.
The First Student Unit is the bargaining unit of ATU Local 107 for school bus drivers employed by First Student. Our members are on the road before the first bell and after the last one, responsible for the safest ride a child takes all day.
Split shifts, unpaid gaps and early starts make school bus driving demanding work. The unit is now bargaining its first collective agreement with First Student, with the full support of Local 107 and the Amalgamated Transit Union, the largest union of transit workers in North America.
The unit shares one Local with the HSR transit workers of Hamilton, and one union office.
Our history
On July 21, 2026, First Student workers were officially certified as members of ATU Local 107. They joined a Local that has represented Hamilton transit workers since April 5, 1899.
