The National Day of Mourning is a day to honour and remember the millions of workers whose lives have been impacted by fatality, injury or illness while on the job. On Tuesday, April 28th, 2015, ATU Local 107 members joined with the HDLC and other dignitaries and unions for a Candle Lighting Ceremony in honour of these workers. The touching memorial service was followed by a candle processional to the Day of Mourning Monument at the corner of Main and Bay streets, where wreaths were laid in memory of these workers. ATU Local 107 works hard to ensure that all workers return home safely after each day on the job, and fights for workers’ rights and workplace safety all year round.
